The Millennium

CHAPTER 20  The Millennium and the Final Judgement This chapter divides itself into three parts.  The first part shows Satan being locked away in the bottomless pit and God's people ruling the earth with Christ for a thousand years.  The second part covers Satan's final rebellious act and closes with his destruction.  And the third part introduces the final judgement from the Great White Throne and the Second Resurrection.  The Millennium according to Isaiah.   Isaiah 11:6-9. The prophet spoke a vision of the Millennium Age:  6: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.  7: The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.  8: The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den....

What is the Mark?

Image
Without doubt ‘the Mark’ is one of the most contentious issues facing the church today. There is worldwide expectation that our world leaders are moving towards handing over global power to a coming dictator; a man who the world calls, Anti Christ. The masses believe he will be the only person capable of fixing all the world’s problems.  “He causes all,…. to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads..." The scriptures above are the main texts from the Book of Revelation quoted by end-times preachers regarding the mark, and they quote it in error!  “ I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images”. Isaiah 42:8  It is possible that there may be some person who God’s enemy believes can be trained to take over the world, but God has vowed that He will never allow anyone to steal His glory! All the concern of trying to guess who will be the Anti-Christ is a waste of time. God has told us, it’s not goin...

Chapter 8. The 7 Trumpets

Image
“And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.” Joshua 6:4 Trumpets were sounded to warn citizens outside the city walls of an impending enemy attack; or to rally the people for battle; or sound an attack against an enemy; or call for a celebration. For those reasons, whenever God sounds a trumpet it is not to do us harm, but to do us good! The converse is that Israel’s trumpets sound a fearful warning to their enemies. The visions of the trumpets are spread across four Chapters; 8,9,10 and 11. 8:1 The angels are ready to sound the trumpets. The seventh trump is blown at the time of Jesus’ return, as was the sixth seal. Accordingly, that means the first of the trumpets must be sounded near the same time as the opening of the first seal. That piece of information confirms that the sets of visions are concurrent!    8:3  The praye...

Introduction

Image
It is extremely important to read this Introduction before beginning the study! The book has 22 chapters but this study will be concerned solely with interpretations of the verses starting in Chapter 4. The visions are seven seals on a scroll, seven trumpets to be sounded and seven bowls containing God's wrath. The visions are opened each time the Lord releases a seal, or an angel sounds a trumpet or another angel pours out God's wrath from a golden bowl. A major difference between the images of the seal visions and the other two sets of visions is the Lord Jesus is the only person authorised to open the seals, whereas the trumpets and bowls are activated by angels.    I have done this study because end-time preaching in Australia is almost non-existent. Most Australian preachers steer away from it because of concerns it causes division in the church. However, a third of biblical text is prophecy. That's a lot of scripture to ignore!
