Chapter 8. The 7 Trumpets
“And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.” Joshua 6:4 Trumpets were sounded to warn citizens outside the city walls of an impending enemy attack; or to rally the people for battle; or sound an attack against an enemy; or call for a celebration. For those reasons, whenever God sounds a trumpet it is not to do us harm, but to do us good! The converse is that Israel’s trumpets sound a fearful warning to their enemies. The visions of the trumpets are spread across four Chapters; 8,9,10 and 11. 8:1 The angels are ready to sound the trumpets. The seventh trump is blown at the time of Jesus’ return, as was the sixth seal. Accordingly, that means the first of the trumpets must be sounded near the same time as the opening of the first seal.
